Joel (Jim Carrey) is a lonely man who once routinely decides impulsively, start a train trip to an unfamiliar station (in Montauk, New York). There he meets Clementine (Kate Winslet), an impulsive woman with her hair blue.
But all that is presented as obvious in this film has an unexpected background, and the viewer is slowly discovering that this is not the first time that Joel and Clementine are.
It should be noted that the film is fed by the argument of two books by French writer Boris Vian: Red grass and snatcher; the machine to erase the memories and the theme of memory are developed in both. Clementine and Joel are the names of two of the characters in The snatcher. It is curious that the script has been considered original and unsuitable.
